Manchester United’s Raphael Varane alternative revealed
Raphael Varane appears to be Manchester United’s top centre-back transfer target this summer. The Frenchman has been one of the best defenders in Europe for years now. But with just a year left on his current deal with Real Madrid, he could very well be departing Santiago Bernabeu this summer.
It goes without saying that the signing of the World Cup winner would be considered a major coup for any club. And the Red Devils appear to be one of the favourites to sign him at this point of time.
If Varane was to leave this summer though, a number of clubs are expected to be interested in his signature. The likes of Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea have already been linked with the defender. And as we know, things can change very quickly in football. Thus, it would be smart on the part of the Red Devils to keep their options open.
As reported by AS (via Manchester Evening News), Jules Kounde is also an option for Manchester United.

Kounde could be a brilliant signing for Manchester United
Kounde is another defender who is expected to draw a lot of interest this summer. The Frenchman has had a couple of brilliant seasons with Sevilla and has also represented the France national team.
The 22-year-old is great on the ball and in the air. And despite his young age, he already has some solid experience at the senior level. Of course, there are still certain areas of his game that he could improve but that is to be expected. Overall, he is a player that the Red Devils should definitely keep an eye on.
But the first-choice at this moment certainly appears to be Varane and it is not hard to see why. His combination of world-class quality and experience would make him a perfect signing for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side.
