Southgate reveals Sancho’s reaction to Manchester United transfer
After years of rumours and speculation, Manchester United have finally managed to agree a Jadon Sancho deal with Borussia Dortmund as the English international looks set to be the new star at the Theatre of Dreams come next season.
Sancho established himself as one of the most exciting wingers in the world during his time at Borussia Dortmund and as a result, the move is considered as a major coup on the part of the Red Devils and could turn them into contenders, both in the Premier League and in Europe next season.
Sancho is currently with the England national team at EURO 2020 but has found opportunities hard to come by. In fact, he has made only one substitute appearance till now in the competition although recent rumours do suggest that he could be set to start against Ukraine.
Thus, some might question whether the Manchester United transfer saga has acted as a distraction for the youngster. But in fact, it looks it might have had a positive effect as his performances in training have improved over the past week or so. As reported by Manchester Evening News, Gareth Southgate told ITV:
"“No, in fact I think Jadon over the last seven days has trained the best level in the time with us.”"

Sancho could be a magnificent signing for Manchester United
It had very much looked like Sancho was the Red Devils’ top target in this summer transfer window. Thus, it is brilliant that they have managed to get a deal over the line this early. Now they can concentrate on strengthening in other areas of the squad.
Right wing was very much a position of need this summer as well. There was very little depth there last season and Mason Greenwood ended up playing there for the majority of the campaign even though his future lies more centrally on the pitch.
Someone like Sancho is expected to come in and quickly make the position his own. And if he can continue progressing at Old Trafford, at the rate that he did at Borussia Dortmund, then Manchester United might have one of the best players in the world on their hands in the near future.
