Fabrizio Romano provides Manchester United triple transfer update
Manchester United are expected to make quite a splash in the summer transfer window. The club showed some promising progress last season by finishing second in the Premier League and as runners up in the Europa League.
Ultimately though, they could not win a piece of silverware. It was their fourth straight season without a trophy. And that streak needs to come to an end as soon as possible. Making solid additions to the squad in the summer transfer window should go a long way in that regard.
There are quite a few positions that might need reinforcements over the summer. But it looks like signing a new right winger and a centre-back are the priorities at the moment.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano provided an update on three players that Manchester United have been linked with in recent months – Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane and Pau Torres. He tweeted out:

Manchester United have been linked with several players over the course of the last few months
Sancho has appeared to be the top transfer target of the Red Devils in the summer. In fact, the club have had him on their radar for a long time now. They had tried to sign him last summer as well but a move failed to materialise as Borussia Dortmund were believed to have been looking for a transfer fee in the region of €120 million back then, a figure that Manchester United could not match. It does feel like a transfer is more likely to happen this time around though.
The club appear to be focused on signing a new centre-back as well. Both Varane and Torres have been heavily linked with them in recent months.
Varane has only a year left on his current deal with Real Madrid. On the other hand, Torres could be on the move after a couple of brilliant seasons with Villarreal.
Now, it remains to be seen whether the club can sign any of these players. One thing is for sure though, if they are to mount a title challenge next season, they could very well need to make a few solid additions to their current squad.
