Paul Pogba stepped his game up this season and was one of the biggest reasons behind the progress that Manchester United showed through the course of the campaign. And it goes without saying that the Red Devils are a better team when on he is one the pitch.
But the French midfield maestro’s future remains up in the air. He has only a year left on his contract and would become a free agent in the summer of 2022 unless he agrees a new deal with the club.
As a result, there is a possibility that Pogba could end up leaving the club this summer. Thus, the Red Devils might have to sign a replacement for the midfielder.
One man who could be brilliant in a Manchester United shirt is Jack Grealish. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he scored 7 goals and provided 12 assists in 27 appearances across all competitions for Aston Villa in the 2020/21 season. And if Pogba was to depart Old Trafford, he could prove to be a brilliant replacement.

Why Grealish could be brilliant for Manchester United
It goes without saying that Grealish is a very different player to Pogba. While the Frenchman lies deep and can open things up with his ability on the ball, the Aston Villa captain operates further up the pitch.
But interestingly, we have seen Pogba feature in a left attacking midfield role on a number of occasions recently. And this is an area where Grealish could be brilliant for the Red Devils.
He also plays in a central attacking midfield position and has the versatility to play in a number of other positions as well. But when you sign someone like Grealish, you would want him in an area where he is at this best and that would be through the centre or on the left. One thing is for sure though, as a player, he has everything it takes to be a success at Manchester United.
Of course, such a move will depend on the future of Pogba at Old Trafford. And if the club were to sign Grealish, you have to question what it would mean for players like Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial.
