Manchester United have been linked with a number of players for a long time now. One of them is Jadon Sancho.

The English international has been linked with a move to Old Trafford for a few years now. And it is not hard to see why, considering the fact that he has managed to establish himself as one of the brightest prospects in world football ever since moving to Borussia Dortmund.

It appears that the Red Devils had tried to sign him in the last summer transfer window as well but a move failed to materialise as the Bundesliga giants were believed to be looking for a €120 million transfer fee. There has been a positive feeling about the possibility of the move taking place this summer but it looks like there is an worrying update on the situation.

When asked about whether the Red Devils are preparing a transfer bid for Sancho, journalist Constantin Eckner tweeted out:

Manchester United handed Sancho transfer blow once again

Sancho might be one of the names on top of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s wishlist for the upcoming summer transfer window. And missing out on him this summer as well could prove to be a major blow to the club.

It is not clear what kind of a transfer fee Borussia Dortmund are looking for at this point of time, but it is expected that it will be lower than the €120 million that they were believed to be looking for last summer.

It is important though that the Red Devils have alternative targets in mind in case they fail to sign Sancho this summer. Right wing is an area on the pitch that they lack depth in and they cannot go into another season in the same situation if they want to challenge for titles. As things stand, they have not won a trophy in four straight seasons and Solskjaer will be expected to deliver silverware this time around.
