£25 million defender could be the answer for Manchester United
Manchester United have improved a lot in recent times when it comes to their defence. Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof have managed to form a good partnership at the back while there is some good backup beyond them.
But even then, there is a feeling that it is a position that the club can improve upon further. They have conceded 43 goals in the Premier League till now this season. That is the most among teams in the top four right now, even one more than Liverpool, who have suffered multiple defensive injuries throughout the course of their campaign.
Thus, the Red Devils could be looking for another centre-back in the near future. And the upcoming summer transfer window will present them with an opportunity to bring in a defensive partner for Harry Maguire at the heart of their defence for next season.
A number of defenders from all over Europe have been linked with the club in recent months – Jules Kounde, Raphael Varane, Pau Torres, Nikola Milenkovic and many others. But could the answer to their problems already be in the Premier League?

Manchester United have been linked with Joachim Andersen in recent months
As reported by The Telegraph (via Metro) last month, Lyon could be open to letting Joachim Andersen leave in the summer for a transfer fee around £25 million.
Both Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur were linked with the defender at that point of time but since then, Arsenal appear to have emerged in the transfer race as well.
The 24-year-old is on loan at Fulham from Ligue 1 side Lyon. But with Scott Parker’s side set to be relegated to the Championship next season, it seems unlikely that he will be at Craven Cottage for much longer.
According to stats from Transfermarkt, Andersen has made 31 appearances in the Premier League this season. And he has managed to catch the eye of some of the top clubs around the country with his performances. He is a good ball-playing defender with a lot of potential and has shown that he can get it done in the English top flight. Thus, the interest for his signature is not surprising.
