Manchester United legend makes massive Paul Pogba claim
Paul Pogba is perhaps playing the best football of his Manchester United career at the moment. While he has had his fair share of injury worries this season, it is safe to say that when he has been on the pitch, he has easily been one of the best players in the team.
The only problem is that he will only have a year left on his current contract at the end of the current campaign. And if the club are unable to agree a new deal with him soon, they might be forced to let him leave in the summer rather than risk him becoming a free agent just a year later.
There will be mixed feelings about any potential Pogba exit though. After all, he remains one of the most important parts of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s current team.
Roy Keane believes that he has not done enough at Manchester United though. As reported by Express, he told Sky Sports:
"“I think we’ve all discussed many times over the last few years, Paul Pogba is a talented player, absolutely, there’s no getting away from that.“But I still feel he hasn’t done enough at Man United.“He obviously fell out with Mourinho, that was a big problem at the club, but even the last few months, we’re saying he’s had a big influence, I wouldn’t agree with that.“I think he’s playing OK and he’s a good player, but I still look in some of the big crunch games United have had this year, he hasn’t turned up.“Not just his fault but they lost at Leicester, which was a big cup game for them, Man City at home, he didn’t perform that night.”"

How important is Pogba to this Manchester United side?
Of course, the talent has never been in question when it comes to Pogba. He has always had the potential to be one of the best players in Europe.
Unfortunately though, he has never quite managed to deliver that kind of football on a consistent basis during his time at Old Trafford. But he is doing very well at the moment. According to stats from Transfermarkt, the French World Cup winner has scored 5 goals and provided 7 assists in 35 appearances across all competitions this season. And the Red Devils certainly are a better team with him in it.
It was just this year that we saw them go through a rough phase when Pogba was out injured. But now that he is back, they appear to be gaining some momentum once again as they enter the final stretch of the season.
Thus, the club should try to keep hold of the French midfielder for the foreseeable future if they can because it will be very difficult to find a replacement for him.
