It is no secret that Manchester United had tried to sign Erling Haaland from Red Bull Salzburg in January of last year. But ultimately, the move failed to transpire and he ended up at Borussia Dortmund, where he has established himself as one of the best players on the planet.

As a result, it is not surprising that the Red Devils are still interested in signing the striker. But that might be much more difficult now than it was a year back.

Some of the biggest clubs in Europe are now chasing the Norwegian striker. And Borussia Dortmund are looking for a €180 million fee for his transfer this summer, although it is believed that a release clause will be activated in his contract in the summer of 2022 which is much lower than that.

Now, it is clear that Manchester United still need a striker in the summer, with Anthony Martial failing to find the back of the net on a consistent basis this season and Edinson Cavani being linked with a move away from Old Trafford. As a result, it would not be surprising if they are looking at alternatives to Haaland to sign in the summer.

Both Manchester United and FC Barcelona have been linked with Andre Silva

As reported by Bild (via Marca), Andre Silva is apparently one of the players on FC Barcelona’s summer shortlist.

A report in The Sun suggests Manchester United are also interested in signing Silva this summer. The 25-year-old Portugal international has proven his goalscoring ability this season, having scored 21 goals from 24 matches in the Bundesliga in the 2020-21 campaign.

After coming through FC Porto, the Portuguese striker had a tough spell at AC Milan but has been very impressive ever since moving to Eintracht Frankfurt. And at this point of time, he is one of the most in-form strikers in the world right now.

As a result, it is not surprising that two of the biggest clubs in Europe could be after him this summer.
