Manchester United are open to player’s sensational return
Manchester United are one of the best clubs in the world. Naturally, competition for places in the team is very tough. Thus, it should not come as a surprise that a number of players are forced to leave the club on loan in search of playing time despite their unquestionable ability and potential.
One such player is Jesse Lingard. Following the arrival of Bruno Fernandes in January of last year, he found time on the pitch hard to come by. The fact that he was not in good form did not help matters either.
As a result, he spent the first half of the current campaign out of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first-team plans before completing a loan move to West Ham United. It is safe to say that the move has given his career a new lease of life.
The Englishman has been absolutely sensational ever since joining The Hammers. In 7 appearances for them, he has scored 5 goals and provided 3 assists. Incredible numbers for a player who scored just 4 goals and provided 2 assists in 40 appearances last season according to stats from Transfermarkt.

Manchester United open to Lingard return and new contract
According to The Sun, Manchester United are open to the idea of bringing back Jesse Lingard in the summer and could even offer him a new three-year contract.
As things stand, he will be entering the final year of his current contract this summer. And it will be interesting to see whether the Red Devils are able to reach a new deal with the Englishman.
Even if he is brought back, it is very unlikely that he will be back in the first-team picture immediately. As a result, Lingard might want to remain at West Ham United, where he is thriving right now, if they can agree a permanent deal with Manchester United.
What will happen remains to be seen but for the time being, it looks like there is a possibility that Lingard might be back at Old Trafford come next season.
