Manchester United are expected to look for players in a number of positions over the course of the summer transfer window. One of them is believed to be a winger.

The Red Devils have lacked depth in the wide areas this season, which has seen Mason Greenwood feature there on a number of occasions. Although the youngster’s future probably lies more centrally on the pitch.

As a result, they have been linked with a number of wingers over the past several months. And the latest name on that list appears to be that of Bayer Leverkusen star Moussa Diaby.

The youngster has been an absolute revelation since joining the Bundesliga side from Paris Saint-Germain. According to AS, he is now wanted by the likes of Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Manchester United. Not a bad list of clubs to be linked with, for any player on the planet.

Diaby could a brilliant signing for Manchester United

Diaby emerged last season for Bayer Leverkusen, scoring and assisting 8 goals each for the Bundesliga side in 39 appearances. The 21-year-old has stepped up his game even further this time around though. In 35 appearances, he has scored 9 goals and provided 12 assists.

As a result, it is not surprising that some of the biggest clubs in the world are interested in the winger right now. And while we do not know how much Bayer Leverkusen are looking for when it comes to his transfer, it is expected that it won’t be lower than €40 million.

Now, it remains to be seen whether the Red Devils are able to bring the 21-year-old to Old Trafford. The club have been linked with multiple other wingers in the last few months as well, including Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho, Leeds United’s Raphinha, Sporting Lisbon’s Pedro Goncalves among many others. And it will be interesting to see who they ultimately sign.
