Owen Hargreaves urges Manchester United to sign Premier League duo
Manchester United have made some incredible progress this season under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to find themselves sitting at second in the Premier League table and with a chance of even going on to win the title if Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City slip up in the final stretch of the campaign.
Whatever happens in that regard, ultimately the improvement in both performances and results are very promising. The Red Devils once again look like a side that are very difficult to beat. And while they might have drawn a lot of games this season, they have not tasted defeat on too many occasions.
The progress should not stop here though. The ultimate aim should be to go on and lift the Premier League title once again. And for that to happen, the club might need to dip into the transfer market and bring in a few players.
Two positions that they might need reinforcements in are centre-back and defensive midfield. As reported by Manchester Evening News, Owen Hargreaves has urged the Red Devils to sign Declan Rice and Wesley Fofana. While speaking of Rice he said:
"“I think Rice’s upside is off the charts. He has the potential to be anything and a lot better. I think he plays within himself at West Ham.“People don’t realise how big he is. He’s 6ft 3in, so he looks like a centre-back, but he’s actually really good technically.“I’m not a big fan of players who just play in there and pass it around, you have to stop players. Declan Rice doesn’t have to dictate the game for Man United, he can pass to the players who can make the difference and be good defensively.”"
On the other hand, he described Fofana as a “Ferrari”:
"“I’d love to see them get Fofana. He’s a Ferrari, honestly. I’d throw whatever they’ve got left in the bank to get him. He’s a fabulous player.”"

Both players could be brilliant signings for Manchester United but can they get them?
It is undeniable that both Rice and Fofana have been brilliant this season for West Ham United and Leicester City respectively and they have incredible potential. But it would be very difficult for the Red Devils to sign both of them.
Rice was previously rated at around £80 million by The Hammers. And although that might have gone down a bit since then, the Premier League side are still expected to be looking for over £50 million for the English international.
On the other hand, Fofana joined Leicester City just last summer from Saint-Etienne in a deal which could reportedly rise up to €40 million and he has taken the Premier League by storm despite being just 20 years of age. And it would not be surprising if The Foxes want twice of that for any future transfer of the French defender.
