Manchester United receive Marcus Rashford injury update after scan
Manchester United’s 2-0 victory away against table toppers Manchester City was a statement of intent from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side.
Coming into the game, Pep Guardiola’s in-form team would have surely been the firm favourites. The Red Devils, on the other hand, had played out three goalless draws and looked like a side lacking in creativity and ideas.
The form went out of the window in the Manchester Derby though, as goals from Bruno Fernandes and Luke Shaw were enough to hand Solskjaer’s side all 3 points and keep the title race alive. Now, with 10 games to go, City have a 11 point lead.
There was one negative coming out of the game though and that was the ankle injury that Marcus Rashford suffered in the second half. He had to be brought off as a result of it and there were fears that he could be put out of action for a while.

The Manchester United star’s injury is not as serious as first feared
Manchester United have been handed an injury boost as Rashford has managed to avoid ankle ligament damage as was revealed after undergoing a scan, according to The Telegraph and as reported by the Express.
The English international is still expected to spend some time on the sidelines but it is not as serious as many had been fearing after he hobbled off the pitch last night.
Of course, this would be a major relief to Solskjaer, who will definitely be avoid to see one of his most important players avoid serious injury. He even played a huge part in the 2-0 win over Manchester City by assisting Shaw’s goal, which put the game beyond Guardiola’s side.
At the end of the day, after playing continuous football over the past several months, a short break might help him recharge the batteries and come back stronger. We would like to wish him a speedy recovery.
