Manchester United open talks to sign wonderkid ahead of Real Madrid
Manchester United have reportedly opened talks with the player’s entourage as they look to beat Real Madrid to his signature.
Manchester United’s recent transfer policy has mostly revolved around signing some of the most highly-rated youngsters from all over the world, integrating them into the club’s youth system and hoping that they can turn them into Premier League quality players.
It is with this view in mind that Amad Diallo and Facundo Pellistri were signed on the deadline day of the summer transfer window. Other than that, the likes of Alvaro Fernandez, Marc Jurado, Joe Hugill, Isak Hansen-Aaroen, Charlie McNeill, Willy Kambwala and Alejandro Garnacho have also been brought into the club in the recent past. And the name of Yusuf Demir could soon be added to that list.
The 17-year-old Austrian attacking midfielder has already made 14 appearances for Rapid Vienna, scoring 4 goals and providing 2 assists in the process of doing so. And clearly that has drawn interest from some of the biggest clubs in Europe.

Manchester United will need to move quickly though as Demir is also being suited by Real Madrid, who are another club known for signing youngsters from all over the world.
As reported by Defensa Central (via Express), the Red Devils appear to be leading the race for his signature though as they have already opened talks with the player’s entourage. And although a concrete offer has not been made yet, that could change in the near future, maybe even this month itself.
Rapid Vienna are reportedly looking for a transfer fee in the region of €10 million, which is not a very steep amount considering the current market and the potential that the Austrian teen has.
It looks unlikely that the club will be signing many players in January who can come in and make an impact on the first-team immediately. As a result, let’s just hope that they can get a deal for Demir over the line.
