Manchester United’s summer signing is reportedly set to make his senior-level debut for the club in the FA Cup against Watford this weekend.

Following a slow start to the summer transfer window, Manchester United finally turned up the heat during the final stages, pulling off four deals on the deadline day.

The Red Devils had been chasing the signature of Jadon Sancho all summer and when it became obvious that they were not going to pull off the move, they had to quiet desperately turn their eyes towards the alternatives.

Ousmane Dembele was the most noteworthy alternative option of all that came close to moving to Manchester. But some contractual conundrums splashed cold water on United’s desire to bring in the Frenchman for a season-long loan.

On the deadline day, the club went on to sign three forwards – two wingers and one out-and-out striker. While Edinson Cavani was the most recognised name on the list, the others were two teenagers in Facundo Pellistri and Amad Diallo Traore.

The reports suggest that United paid an amount of around £9 million to attain the Pellistri’s services.

Having received a work permit, Pellistri, unlike Diallo, joined the Red Devils right away. Since then, the Uruguayan has made 8 appearances (all for the U23s), racking up 3 goals and 1 assist so far.

Losing the EFL Carabao Cup semi-final to Manchester City for the second time in two successive seasons, Manchester United are ready to host Watford in the third round of the FA Cup 2020-21 this Saturday.

As reported by Manchester Evening News correspondent Samuel Luckhurst, Pellistri could make his senior debut for the club in the FA Cup game this weekend. The 19-year-old has been spotted training alongside the senior members of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side at Carrington.

On this matter, the most impressive thing would be to see whether Facundo Pellistri makes the first-team or starts on the bench before being brought on later in the game.
