Manchester United linked with blockbuster move for winger
Manchester United have been linked with a blockbuster move for the winger who has been in spectacular form this season.
It is no secret that Manchester United have been in need of a right-winger for quite some time now. In fact, that might be the weakest area in the squad at the moment when it comes to depth.
They had a very public transfer saga involving Jadon Sancho in the summer. And although the player appeared to be interested in a switch to Old Trafford, the move fell through at the end. It was because Borussia Dortmund were unwilling to budge from their €120 million asking price while the Red Devils wanted to get a deal for something around €100 million.
They would try to bring in other players in the last few days of the window but they were fruitless endeavours. Ultimately, the void at right-wing remained.
As a result, do not be surprised to see Solskjaer’s side go after another winger in January. And if an exclusive report from Stretty News is to be believed then it is another one from the Bundesliga they are targeting. This time around it is Bayer Leverkusen’s Leon Bailey.

Bailey has been spectacular form this season. In 18 appearances in all competitions, he has scored 9 goals and provided 7 assists. A huge contrast with Sancho, who has looked out of form and is yet to open his account in the Bundesliga.
It is unlikely that United could get a deal done for cheap though. Bundesliga clubs are notorious negotiators and with Bailey’s contract running till the summer of 2023, they won’t be in any hurry to part ways in January.
In the past, Bailey’s transfer value has been quoted from anything around £40 million to £70 million and the club should be prepared to loosen their purse strings if they want to bring the in-form Jamaican to Old Trafford. Of course, even then it won’t be a easy conquest as the likes of AC Milan, Borussia Dortmund and Tottenham Hotspur are also reportedly interested in securing his signature.
