Manchester United have reportedly ‘agreed’ their first signing of the January transfer window as the Red Devils continue to strengthen.

At the start of the season, not many people would have expected Manchester United to put a Premier League title challenge. And yet here we are, at the end of December, and if the Red Devils win their game tonight against Wolves, then they will jump to second place and remain just two points behind leaders Liverpool.

Of course, they cannot allow themselves to get carried away though. While their form has been impressive lately, they are yet to register a win against any of the traditional Big Six of English football till now.

The games against Chelsea and Manchester City ended in scoreless draws. While both Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur handed them defeats. At this point, they are yet to play Liverpool.

Thus, it is a great sign that the Red Devils are not resting on their laurels and are continuing to improve their squad, as they prepare for a title battle. And if reports are indeed true, then they have already agreed their first signing of the January transfer window in the form of Ecuadorian wonderkid Moises Caicedo.

More from Manchester United News

United have been linked with the defensive midfielder for quite some time now. And according to Sport Witness, journalist Marco Lopez Castillo has claimed that a move ‘is all agreed’. This does sound very legitimate, considering Fabrizio Romano had claimed a couple of days ago, that Manchester United were in control of the situation.

Caicedo is viewed by many as a long-term replacement for Paul Pogba, as the Frenchman looks set to leave the club in the summer. But considering his exploits in international football, he could be good enough to make sporadic appearances for the first-team already.

His signing will be in line with United’s recent transfer policy of signing the most highly-rated youngsters from all over the world. We have already seen Facundo Pellistri and Amad Diallo arrive on deadline day. And do not be surprised if the name of Moises Caicedo is added to that list in January.
