Manchester United could land Cristiano Ronaldo in blockbuster swap deal

Manchester United could have the chance to land Cristiano Ronaldo from Juventus in a blockbuster swap deal.

Speculations regarding Paul Pogba’s Manchester United future have surfaced once again with his agent Mino Raiola hinting at an exit from the club in the very near future. With the 3-2 defeat against RB Leipzig leading to their exit from the Champions League, provided fuel to that fire.

In a recent interview, before the match against RB Leipzig, Raiola mentioned that Juventus could be the next destination for Pogba when he leaves Old Trafford. The Frenchman could be making a return to his former club as claimed by various media sources.

But this could be a huge opportunity for the Red Devils to bring back one of their own former stars as well in the form of Cristiano Ronaldo.

It is no surprise that every football club has been in a financial crisis due to the global pandemic. And Juventus and Manchester United have fallen victim to the situation as well. Naturally, spending a huge amount of money to sign their former midfielder now would be problematic for the Italian giants.

It is the same situation with the Red Devils and Ronaldo. Thus, a swap deal could be the perfect solution for all parties involved.

Ronaldo is 35 now and is by far the highest earner at Juventus, estimated to be around €31 million per year. With Andrea Pirlo as the manager, the Italian side have been planning to move to a much more balanced style of football in the future. On the other hand, Ronaldo is the focal point of any team that he plays in and perhaps rightfully so, considering his astounding numbers even at this age.

Juventus are expected to make a move for Pogba next summer, who will only have a year left on his contract at that point of time. Thus, do not be surprised if the two end up switching jerseys in the near future.
