Roy Keane had already told Manchester United what to do with Paul Pogba way before Mino Raiola’s comments about his future created a stir yesterday.

Mino Raiola’s comments from yesterday about Paul Pogba’s future at Manchester United grabbed quite a few headlines. Anybody who has been following this situation for a while would not have been surprised though. In fact, it has been coming for a while.

For years now, it has appeared that Pogba wants out of Old Trafford. His agent Mino Raiola has never made it a secret either.

In fact, his tweets back in February directed towards Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had caused a lot of controversy as well. And it was a huge reason behind the cold relationship that the super agent shares with the Red Devils. Roy Keane had told United to get rid of Pogba in the summer back then although as we all know, that did not end up happening.

As reported by Manchester United News, the former Manchester United star had said:

"“There’s been lots of noises coming out of Pogba’s camp for a number of months.“The simple thing I would do is move him on in the summer. He is a good player but there is too much baggage with him and his agent so just move him on.“Sometimes you have to lose to win. It might backfire on you, but if it’s not right for the club and these agents are laughing at you, then let these lads go. Look at the bigger picture.“Don’t be chasing after these players who don’t really want to be at the club. I don’t think Pogba wants to be there. So just shake his hand and off you go.”"

At this point of time, many fans are probably wishing that the club had actually gotten rid of the Frenchman in the summer. He does not appear to be a part of Solskjaer’s first-team plans anymore as Bruno Fernandes has come into the team and quickly become the most influential player at the club.

To be honest, it is hard to fit both Fernandes and Pogba in the same time. And based on current form, the Portuguese international is ahead of his teammate. Thus, it would not be a massive loss for the club if they ended up letting Pogba leave, especially with Donny van de Beek at Old Trafford as well.

The most frustrating thing about Raiola’s comments is probably the timing. United are heading into one of the most important games of their season, when they face RB Leipzig with the fate of their Champions League campaign hanging in the balance. And they didn’t need the distraction at this point of time.
