Fabrizio Romano has dropped a transfer bombshell regarding the future of Paul Pogba at Manchester United.

For years, transfer rumours have surrounded Paul Pogba at Old Trafford. It is arguable that the Frenchman has never shown his best form since moving to Manchester United from Juventus in a then world record move.

With his contract quickly running out though, it is likely that he will ultimately end up leaving the club in the upcoming summer transfer window as the Red Devils would be desperate to get something out of his departure instead of letting him walk out for free in the future.

While it has been one of the worst-kept secrets in all of football, his agent Mino Raiola’s comments appear to have pretty much confirmed that his time at Old Trafford is set to come to an end very soon.

The very reliable Fabrizio Romano confirmed the news on his Twitter:

To be very honest, this is not as big of a blow now as it would have been a few seasons ago. In fact, at this point of time it looks like Pogba is no longer a part of Solskjaer’s first-team plans.

Bruno Fernandes’ arrival in January has been an absolute game-changer in this regard. The Portuguese has had the sort of impact that Pogba was expected to have on the Red Devils when he arrived back in 2016.

The Frenchman currently finds himself sitting on the bench on most occasions and while he remains a huge part of this squad, in Donny van de Beek they have adequate back-up in case he ends up leaving.

As a result, it might be the perfect time for the player and the club to part ways. It might even be a win-win situation for both parties. United are expected to get a significant transfer fee and can use that to improve their squad further. On the other hand, Pogba won’t have a lack of suitors with clubs like Real Madrid and FC Barcelona reportedly interested.
