The Manchester United star has been mysteriously left out of the squad for their game against West Ham United in the Premier League.

Manchester United’s defeat at the hands of Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday means that they will now most probably need to get at least a draw against RB Leipzig next Tuesday to secure their place in the Last 16 of the Champions League.

Solskjaer’s side cannot look past West Ham United though when they travel to London to take on the Hammers, who have been impressive form lately and currently sit at 5th position in the Premier League.

United themselves have a huge opportunity to break into the top four of the table, which a win against David Moyes side could see them do. That is incredible considering the fact that there start to the season has been seen as a huge disappointment by most people. Yet, they are in a decent position both in the Champions League and the Premier League.

When they take on West Ham United, it looks like they will be without Fred though. Manchester Evening News’ Samuel Luckhurst broke the news earlier that the midfielder had not travelled with the squad to London and was looking likely to miss the game.

A reason has not been given for his absence though as there has been no news that he was injured in training. He did receive a red card against PSG though which turned out to be a huge factor in their defeat on Wednesday night. Could that be the reason why Solskjaer has decided to leave him out of the squad?

If that is indeed the case then it could be a risky move from Solskjaer. Fred has been a regular for this United team for quite some time now and has been one of their best performers this season. Thus, it could hurt the side’s chances against West Ham United.

This could also be a case of just giving him a rest though. After all, he has played a lot of football recently and the manager could have just left him at home to recharge his batteries before the all-important game against RB Leipzig.

Whatever maybe the case, let’s just hope that the Red Devils can secure the win against the Hammers. It would be their fourth straight win in the league and will be a massive confidence booster for the team before a tough run of fixtures that is coming up.
