Paris Saint-Germain have been warned about the Manchester United star and their potential summer mistake that could come back to haunt them.

Edinson Cavani is without doubt one of the most successful strikers in Paris Saint-Germain history, having scored 200 goals for them. But he was allowed to leave the French champions in the summer after he was deemed surplus to requirements. Somebody’s loss was somebody else’s gain as Manchester United snapped him up for free.

And the Uruguayan appears to be settling in at Old Trafford pretty well. Till now he has been mostly used as an impact substitute off the bench but after recent showings, it will be hard for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to not give him a start.

Former AS Roma midfielder believes that the Parisians made a mistake by allowing Cavani to walk out of the club and it is affecting them. He wrote on Twitter:

"“El Matador. He is really missing at PSG. a big mistake to have let him go.“In any case, he’s ready for his next match …”"

Manchester United won’t surely be complaining. When the striker first arrived, there was not too much excitement from the fans. After the failed Jadon Sancho transfer saga, they were not expecting a 33-year-old striker to be their marquee signing of the summer.

Cavani has already started to prove the doubters wrong though. He got his first goal for the club in their 3-1 win over Everton and then scored a brace after coming on in the second half against Southampton to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat for the Red Devils. And do not be surprised to see him start against his former side in the Champions League on Wednesday.

He could end up being the difference between qualification and elimination for the French champions and show them that they made a massive mistake by letting him go in the summer. On the other hand, United fans would find nothing more delightful than that.
