Former Manchester United star linked with Old Trafford return

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer appears to be keen on bringing back the former Manchester United defender in the upcoming transfer window.
Under the management of Louis Van Gaal, Jonny Evans was sold off to West Bromwich Albion back in 2015. But Evans’ contract, who is currently with Leicester City, is coming to an end and it seems like current Manchester United boss, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, is eyeing a potential January deal to bring him back to Old Trafford.
The Northern Irishman started his career at Old Trafford and had given his service to the club for 9 years before he was sold off to West Bromwich Albion back in 2015. But now it looks like a comeback might be on the cards for Evans.
Solskjaer is reportedly looking to swoop in for the defender, should the Foxes decide not to or fail to extend Evans’ contract. The 32-year-old already has three Premier League titles under his belt, which shows that he is quite capable of contributing to the current United defence, which is shaky at best.

Back in 2018 Leicester City managed to get their hands on Evans, triggering a clause in his West Brom contract, following the Baggies’ relegation that season. Since then the defender has been a regular for the Foxes and is considered a key player at King Power Stadium.
The Norwegian is always looking to strengthen the squad’s defence which often is found lacking a veteran defender and with Evans’ contract coming to an end, Solskjaer might just have his hands on the perfect solution.
It is no secret that defence has been a weakness of this Manchester United team for quite some time now. Solskjaer has already brought Harry Maguire to Old Trafford with a record transfer fee, who was also a former Leicester City centre-back. Thus, it might not be the worst to reunite him with his former teammate.
