Blockbuster Manchester United transfer is ‘very likely’
By Akash Dutta
Bild journalist Christian Falk has claimed that the blockbuster Manchester United transfer is very likely to happen next summer.
AC Milan midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu is very likely to to get on board with the Premier League giants as Bild journalist Christian Falk has claimed that, Manchester United are in advanced talks with his agent and it seems like the the 27-year old midfielder is considering Old Trafford as a serious destination next summer.
The Seria A giants have the Turkish International under contract till the summer of 2021 and it seems like they will be considering an extension of his contact, although rumours have suggested that the club might be failing to meet the demands put forward by Calhanoglu.
It may be difficult for Milan to hold up their end of the deal but reports claim that a lot of European clubs including the likes of Atletico Madrid and Juventus are willing to meet the midfielder’s demands, although Manchester United appear to have advanced quite a lot in terms of a future transfer taking place.
Currently Calhanoglu is bound to his contract which restricts him from taking up any kind of deal from other clubs but in January he will be entering the final six months of his deal and will be able to sign any kind of pre-contact agreement with potential suitors.

In a recent interview with Stretford Paddock Podcast journalist Christian Falk has claimed that the move to Old Trafford is ‘very likely’ to take place:
"“It’s true and I think this will happen because last summer there will already talks with his agent. I don’t know if you know but Juventus would have also have liked him last summer but he said ‘no’“He said no because he already knew what would happen this summer with United. Talks are already very, very far at the moment and he’ll be a free agent, so this transfer is very, very likely.”"
It seems like the former Leverkusen midfielder has already set his eyes on United this summer and thus has declined any kind of deal offered by Juventus. It will be interesting to see if the Red Devils are willing to go after him as well though.
There is a lot of competition in his position at Old Trafford right now. But with Pogba likely to leave in the summer, he might indeed be a shrewd acquisition.
