Manchester United star forced off pitch with injury on international duty
The Manchester United star was forced off the pitch after it looks like he aggravated an injury while away on international duty.
Manchester United have suffered an up and down start to their season till now. While there have been big wins against Paris Saint-Germain and RB Leipzig, there have also been disappointing losses.
As things stand, they sit at 13th in the Premier League table and Solskjaer know that that needs to improve very quickly if he is stay at Old Trafford for much longer. Otherwise, every defeat will raise new questions and the sack will ultimately come.
One position that has especially been a weakness for the Red Devils is their defence. As a result, that is not somewhere that they can afford any injuries in at the moment. But that might exactly be what they are facing right now.
Victor Lindelof was forced off injured while playing for Sweden against France in their 4-2 defeat. And as reported by Aftonbladet, Swedish assistant manager Peter Wettergren’s comments suggest that he has aggravated a back injury:
"“He was in a bit of pain after the match against Croatia, but said that he will give everything for the team.“He was able to train okay yesterday and said ‘I’ll push as long as possible’. He gave me a signal at half time that he would not go the whole [of second] half. Then I told him to shout when it is not possible.”"

Lindelof was already carrying an injury with Manchester United and it was earlier suggested that the international break might have been an opportunity for him to take care of those problems and come back refreshed. But he has continued to play on through his back issues and it might have finally caught up to him.
The Swede has been a regular under Solskjaer this season and many might even claim that he has been the club’s most consistent centre-back. Thus, if he is out for any considerable length of time, it could be a problem for them to find a replacement.
Both Eric Bailly and Phil Jones are expected to be out for quite some more time. On the other hand, Axel Tuanzebe was very impressive while playing against Paris Saint-Germain but the fact of the matter is that he has not played much football in a year and might not be yet ready to play every week.
Thus, it will be interesting to see what solution Solskjaer comes up with in that situation. But let’s just hope that Lindelof is fine and we do not have to find out.
