Manchester United have identified their next centre-back
Manchester United seem to have finally identified a left-footed centre-back that they have been searching for for quite a while.
Manchester United’s problems at centre-back are well documented. When the club signed Harry Maguire for £80 million last summer, they have thought they were solving their issues at the back for the foreseeable future. But as we all know by now, that has not been the case.
Maguire’s time at Old Trafford can only be termed as ‘shaky’. And none of his partners have been particularly special either. Lindelof is the man who has featured most this season and while the Swede has had his moments, he is also capable of putting in bad performances as well.
Eric Bailly has the same problem of being frustrating at times while it is unlikely that Phil Jones will ever be a first-team star at Manchester United ever again.
Axel Tuanzebe had a brilliant performance against Paris Saint-Germain but has not featured much since. Although that is understandable considering he has not played any football in the last year or so due to injuries.

Thus, it won’t be surprising if United end up going for another defender in January and one kind of player that they have been looking for is a left-footed centre-back. Nathan Ake was on top of that wishlist before he ended up moving to their cross-city rivals. And now, it looks like the club have shifted their attention to Sporting Braga star David Carmo according to Team Talk.
At just 21 years of age, Carmo has established himself in the Braga team. And the Red Devils will get a chance to have a look at their target when he faces Leicester City in the Europa League.
While no transfer fee has not been floating around in the media, TransferMarkt values the defender at around just £5.5 million. But considering the present day market and how he performs this season, do not be surprised to see his signature fetch a lot more than that if he indeed ends up moving to Old Trafford in the future.
