OFFICIAL: Man City have hijacked Manchester United transfer
Manchester United have been left red-faced after it has been announced that their city rivals have managed to steal their transfer target from under their noses.
In the bygone summer transfer window, one of the many rumours that raised the eyebrows of Manchester United fans was that of Filip Stevanovic being linked with a shocking summer move to the ‘Theatre of Dreams’.
It certainly seemed as if it would be a matter of time before the teenage prodigy would end up at Old Trafford. The very reliable Fabrizio Romano raised the hopes of the fans by claiming that Stevanovic was United-bound.
But as soon as the international transfer deadline day approached, the hopes of the teenager’s arrival started to fade away. And now, it has been officially revealed that Manchester City have gone past United to obtain the signature of the highly-rated winger.
As reported by The Athletic, Manchester City will pay an amount of around £6 million in a deal that has already been agreed between the Cityzens and the Serbian side, Partizan.
If everything goes in the right direction, the 18-year-old will join the Blue side of Manchester in the upcoming January transfer window.

While making the announcement via their Twitter account on Saturday, the Belgrade club wrote:
"“Partizan is pleased to announce the transfer of Filip Stevanovic to Manchester City in the 2021 winter transfer window.“The transfer of Filip Stevanovic to one of the largest clubs in Europe is a significant confirmation of the hard work being done at the club.”"
Stevanovic would be filling the void left vacant following the departure of Leroy Sane in the last summer transfer window.
The German joined his homeland club Bayern Munich from Manchester City for a reported transfer fee of €49 million (£44.2m).
Manchester United, on the other hand, went on to sign two 18-year-old prodigies in Amad Diallo Traore and Facundo Pellistri on the deadline day. While the former will join the Mancunian club after receiving a new work permit, the latter has already started training with his new teammates after arriving from Penarol.
