Manchester United have turned down chance to sign superstar
Manchester United have turned down the chance to sign the midfield maestro who will be available on a free transfer next summer.
You don’t need to be a die-hard Manchester United fan to understand that Matt Judge is the person currently possessing the power of conducting all the principal negotiations surrounding the club. To be precise, he is the chief negotiator of the Red Devils.
Alongside the United’s chief executive in Ed Woodward, Judge makes all the major decisions regarding the club’s transfer activities in the transfer market. He earned loads of plaudits from fans, in general, after the club went on to secure the services of Donny van de Beek within forty-eight hours after rumours broke out linking the Red Devils with the Dutch midfielder.
The name of Matt Judge has again come under the spotlight as he has taken another major transfer-oriented decision on the behalf of the Manchester United. According to a report from The Athletic, the chief negotiator turned down an offer from Hakan Calhanoglu’s agent when the entourage of the player contacted him over the prodigy’s possible move to the ‘Theatre of Dreams’ next summer.

It was reported last week that the Red Devils had been keeping tabs on the situation of the midfielder at AC Milan, with 26-year-old Turkish playmaker’s contract at San Siro set to expire in June 2021. He will also be able to sign a pre-contract agreement with his preferred club in the upcoming January transfer window.
But, as reported by The Athletic, Manchester United are not interested in adding more new faces to their creative department. The Red Devils already have the likes of Bruno Fernandes, Paul Pogba, Donny van de Beek, Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard under their senior ranks for that attacking midfield berth.
It can be said that Judge was right to call the deal off as the club should ponder upon signing more defensive midfielders at the moment. The combination of Nemanja Matic, Scott McTominay, and Fred doesn’t appear to be good enough to turn them into title contenders.
