Manchester United set to make ambitious offer for target
By Akash Dutta
Manchester United appear to have stepped up their interest in signing the AC Milan midfielder with a ‘double or nothing’ offer.
This year Manchester United did not perform well in their summer transfer window, as the Red Devils spent most of their time in perusing Borussia Dortmund ace Jordan Sancho which turned into a disaster when the Englishman was not allowed to leave when Ed Woodward and company ignored the German giants’ £108 million evaluation and tried to strike a deal for him at a lower transfer fee.
Although United’s summer window was not completely dry as the club were able to complete four deadline signings, one being Uruguayan striker Edinson Cavani, who was given the legendary number 7 shirt upon arrival. It is now clear that Solskjaer is now somewhat confident in the team’s defensive abilities when Tuanzebe and Wan Basaka showed their capabilities in the 2-1 win over PSG in the Champions League.
This drove Solskjaer to explore more options in the midfield and thus United have been reportedly perusing the Turkish International Hakan Calhanoglu. It is confirmed that his contract with AC Milan comes to an end in June 2021 and United have already been in ‘concrete negotiations’ as reported by GiveMeSport.

The 26-year old has a decent record with 27 goals and 40 assists to his name in only 137 appearances for AC Milan. And he has already turned down an offer from the Italian giants Juventus and has expressed his desired to play in the Premier League.
The 26-year has been providing his services to Milan at £54,000 per week and Ed Woodward is willing to offer a price of £100,000 per week for the midfielder which is double his current salary. And it will definitely be an offer that is hard to turn down.
It is clear now that Woodward is seeing the potential that Solskjaer’s side has and is willing to rectify his summer mistake by giving him the appropriate authority in signing the potential prospects. From here on United fans can only hope to see better use of the upcoming transfer window in January.
