Manchester United fans have been left divided over the club’s latest reported transfer target, who they look set to make a move for next summer.

While Manchester United have not been at the top of English football for a significant amount of time now, it cannot be said that they do not have a good squad. In fact, they have one of the most expensive squads on the planet. And while it does still need improving, there are certain areas where they are well packed at and do not need reinforcements.

Attacking midfield is one of those areas for the Red Devils. They already have the likes of Bruno Fernandes, Paul Pogba, Donny van de Beek and Juan Mata in that position. In fact, it is one of their strongest areas, so much so that Pogba has spent significant time on the bench in recent weeks while Van de Beek has failed to break into the first-team consistently since joining the club in the summer.

That has not stopped them from looking for more attacking midfielders though. Recent reports suggest that AC Milan midfield maestro, Hakan Calhanoglu, is the next man on their transfer wishlist.

The Turkish international has done admirably well since joining the Italian giants. But his contract runs out next summer, and it looks like he will not sign an extension. That of course opens up the door for United to make their move.

Many fans are divided over signing another midfielder though:

Of course, the biggest question here is whether the club needs Calhanoglu at this point of time. But you never know. Paul Pogba continues to be linked with a move away from Old Trafford and if he does indeed end up leaving, the club would do well to get someone as good as him for free.
