Patrice Evra has named three problems that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer must solve to take Manchester United to the next level.

There is no denying the fact that Manchester United look much better now than they did a couple of weeks ago. A 6-1 defeat at Old Trafford at the hands of Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham Hotspur must have sent the alarm bells ringing in the board room as it looked like Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was already walking the managerial tightrope.

Things have improved drastically since then though. A 4-1 win away at Newcastle United calmed down the nerves after the international break. And a 2-1 win away against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League must have helped the side regain their confidence. This was followed by a well-fought 0-0 draw against Chelsea.

All in all, the fans would have surely taken the results that they got in these games if they had been given the choice after that debacle against the Spurs. There is no denying though that this team can improve further. And Patrice Evra has pointed out the three problems that Solskjaer must solve as soon as possible.

As reported by the Manchester Evening News, he said:

"“I think now, Ole [Gunnar Solskaer] will get to a point where he has to make big decisions.“Centre-back because, I’m sorry, Axel Tuanzebe was amazing. He put Neymar and Mbappe in his pocket, he deserved to play!“Are we going to stay with a back four, will we go to a three? We will see, I know Ole has big decisions to make.“Like Van de Beek, Paul [Pogba] on the bench, it’s a good time for United though I would say.”"

Ole certainly has some big decisions to make over the course of the next few weeks. Centre-back has been a huge problem for the Red Devils for quite some time now. And after Tuanzebe’s performance in Paris, it will be hard to keep him out of the team for much longer.

The formation would also be a cause for worry. The club had their biggest success of the season playing with three at the back against PSG. But with all the attacking talent that they have, switching to a three man backline might not be sustainable.

And finally there is the problem with players like Donny van de Beek and Paul Pogba. The Dutchman has found minutes hard to come by since moving to Old Trafford. The Frenchman on the other hand has been relegated to the bench over the last few weeks and been used exclusively as an impact substitute.

Lots of choices to make. One thing is for sure though. It is going to be an interesting ride as long as Ole is at the wheel.
