Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has hinted that he might have found Manchester United’s next utility star after his very impressive performance.

For a season that started so poorly, there seems to be a lot of confidence around Old Trafford at the moment. After the disastrous defeats at the hands of Crystal Palace and Tottenham Hotspur, the win over Paris Saint-Germain has certainly lifted the mood around the Manchester United camp.

The work is not done though, it is just getting started as we are very early in the season. And the games will keep coming thick and fast over the next few weeks. Tomorrow they welcome Frank Lampard’s Chelsea to the Theatre of Dreams in a game that has the potential to have major implications at the end of the season, like we saw just a few months ago.

One star who probably had his big breakthrough against PSG is Axel Tuanzebe. He has never been a starter for the club but that could be about to change soon. He was very impressive against the French champions in a back three but Solskjaer has hinted that he could play him in more than one position.

As reported by the Mirror, he said:

"“Delighted for him because he’s such a professional character, he wants everything, he works really hard, been really, really thorough in his rehab and very pleased for him.“Now to get the consistency in his performances he’s got to stay injury free, we’ve got to manage that, that’s mine and his job and the physical staff’s job.“But I think he can kick on. He’s a leader, he can play centre-back, right-back, he can play centre midfield, he can play many positions.“He’s a boy who takes responsibility for his own development. I’m sure he’s doing everything he can to have a long career at United so hopefully we can get this consistency.”"

Tuanzebe’s performance was certainly a bright spot in a season where the Red Devils have looked extremely shaky at the back. Bailly is set to miss three to four weeks of action while at this point of time, Maguire is a mistake waiting to happen.

It is always great to have a versatile player in the team who can fill in at a number of positions. At the end of the day, there will always be injuries and it is good to have options.

Judging by Tuanzebe’s performance against PSG though, he could be someone capable of nailing down a spot in the first-team and not just someone who is called upon when there is the need to fill a hole in the team. Of course, it is just one performance though and he needs to string together a number of them.
