The recent comments from Dortmund CEO Hans-Jaochim Watzke regarding the Jadon Sancho situation should provide hope to Manchester United.

Although Manchester United managed to sign five players in the recently shut transfer window, the fans have not been able to get over the fact that, Jordan Sancho will not be wearing the Red Devils’ shirt anytime soon. The English international had been the club’s top target for the past several months with clubs such as Liverpool and Chelsea also eager to place an offer for the £108 million rated Dortmund superstar.

Sancho has already played 103 games with Dortmund and has scored 35 goals and provided 45 assists during that time. With the Englishman having a 3-year contract with the German side, they were confident about holding on to their right winger.

The Germans were ready to let him join Manchester United, on a condition that their £108 million asking price of the player is met. Although the price was not negotiable, United refused to budge from their £90 million offer, which meant that ultimately no deal was reached between the two parties.

As reported by Daily Mail, Hans-Jaochim Watzke said:

"“[They] misjudged the situation. We had a clear line and will continue to do so next summer.“In this industry, you can never say that a player is completely unsellable.“I heard and read everywhere in the spring that Sancho was gone. But he’s here. We had an agreement with him.”"

Judging by his comments, it can be said that Watzke is willing to let Sancho go for the right price in the future. No player is “unsellable” was the remark he made, which might clearly be an indication towards the Red Devils that the English international will still be available given that they meet Dortmund’s demands.

Although it will does not look likely that United will go after the Englishman in January, it is expected that they will make another run for him in the next summer transfer window.

All of that might depend on how the team performs this season though. Terrible displays might eventually see Solskjaer sacked and the arrival of a new manager. In which case, Sancho might no longer be in their plans if the new gaffer tries to build the team around a different set of players.
