Solskjaer gives insights on his new Deadline Signings.

As of now, with the transfer window officially closed, the Manchester United manager has given his verdict on the new signings made in the summer transfer window.
Not many will argue that the transfer window was disappointing for every Manchester United fan out there. The club failed to bring in the English wonderkid Jordan Sancho as Ed Woodward was not prepared to pay Dortmund’s asking price and decided to play poker at a table nobody else was sitting at.
With the transfer window closing, Ole had to take the control of the wheel once again and managed to bring on board left-back Alex Telles, winger Facundo Pellistri , former PSG center-forward Edinson Cavani and Atalanta’s rising star Amad Diallo, who will be joining the club in the month of January next year.
After being handed a 6-1 defeat by the Spurs, It was clear that the defensive line-up was shook to the very core. Without wasting any time, the Red Devils landed a £18 million deal and brought in Alex Telles on a 4-year-contract. The Brazillian has turned many heads with his outstanding performances last season, scoring 13 goals and providing 12 assists.
Here is what the manager’s first impressions were of him as stated by the official website:
"“First and foremost, I welcome Alex to United, he is a player we have been tracking for some time and his performances over the past few years are exactly what we are looking for. He is a fighter and a winner and will add real determination and competition to the squad.“Alex has the qualities, both as a player and as a person, that we want here at Manchester United.”"

The new 18-year-old, Facundo Pellistri has already made quite a few headlines with his arrival. Ole sees the youngster as a potential long-term signing rather than a player who could be put into the starting XI straight off the bat. Former Manchester United star Diego Forlan has praised the Uruguayan in the past and has also stated that Facundo has a lot of potential but needs to develop everyday.
Here is what the manager had to say about his new signing:
"“Our scouts have followed Facundo for a long time and we believe that he will be a real talent for the long term, whilst we understand it will take time for him to adapt to the English game, he is capable of having an impact with his pace and ability to beat his opponent.“Facundo has the perfect platform at Manchester United to develop and he has all of the technical qualities and the right mentality required to become a top player here. We are all looking forward to working with him to fulfill his potential over the coming years.”"
With Alexis Sanchez sealing his exit from the club in August of last year, the infamous number 7 has been hanging without a owner for quite some time now. The signing of former PSG star Edinson Cavani will hopefully be enough to fit into the shirt though.
With PSG not renewing his contract, Cavani was a free agent and Manchester United didn’t want to lose this opportunity of securing a proven goal scorer at the very top level for free. The Uruguayan has played 556 matches scoring 341 goals in his career.
Here are some of the remarks made by Ole about the center-forward:
"“Edinson is an experienced ultimate professional who always gives everything for his team. His goalscoring record for club and country is fantastic and we are delighted to sign a player of his caliber.“He’ll bring energy, power, leadership and a great mentality to the squad but, most importantly, he’ll bring goals. He has had a brilliant career so far, winning trophies at almost every club he has played for, and he still has so much more to give at the highest level.“The opportunity for our young players to learn from one of Europe’s top goalscorers over the last 10 years is fantastic and it will really benefit them going forward. Edinson knows exactly what it takes to succeed and we are all looking forward to seeing him make an impact at Manchester United.”"
The signings certainly have a lot of promise. Now it will be important to see whether they can deliver on that promise. Because with the start Manchester United have made this season, they will certainly need it.
