Manchester United right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka has dropped a major hint about his international future on his Instagram.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka has enjoyed a spectacular rise to stardom in a relatively short career. His performances at Crystal Palace caught the attention of the entire league and soon he ended up joining Manchester United for a massive £50 million fee in 2019.

At Old Trafford, he has made a reputation for himself for his gritty defensive displays. His performance against Manchester City stands out as one Red Devils fans will remember for a long time.

But while he enjoys a stable club career, he has failed to establish himself in Gareth Southgate’s England national set up till now. And he seems quite down the pecking order to be honest, with the likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Kyle Walker, Kieran Trippier and Reece James ahead of him.

To be fair to Southgate, England does possess one of the most star-studded right-back talent pools to pick from. But Wan-Bissaka is not going to wait for much longer to get his chance. In fact, it looks like he has already made up his mind.

As reported by Goal, the Manchester United right-back removed the England flag from his Instagram bio and replaced it with that of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

He was called up to the England senior team in 2019 but he did not feature in either of the games due to injury. As it turns out, that might have been a boon in disguise if he does indeed end up representing Democratic Republic of Congo’s national team in the near future.

He is eligible to represent both on the international level and has played for both of them at youth level. And as he has not yet made a senior international appearance for England, he can switch his allegiance from the Three Lions to The Leopards.

As things stand, his future is in his own hands. And we can only wish him the best for whatever decision he takes.
