Manchester United are in fierce negotiations.

By now, it is a well-known fact throughout the footballing world that Manchester United are interested in luring Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund. The expansion of the story has been so extensive that not only men but their dogs perhaps discuss this amongst themselves in free time these days.

Though, there have been very little improvements or updates regarding this highly-touted deal over the last few weeks.

From Borussia Dortmund’s sporting director Michael Zorc confirming that Jadon Sancho will not be leaving the club this summer to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, in the wake of their Europa League exit following a 2-1 defeat to Sevilla in the improvised one-legged semi-final, almost making a plea to the board that he needs signing in order to “get to the level of the teams at the top of the Premier League” in the post-match press conference, the Jadon Sancho saga seems to be hanging in the air covered by unfathomed obscurity.

In a recently-emerged report, Express Sport has taken a deep dive into the matter to disclose the unexplored prospect that has so far proved to be a reason of annoyance from Manchester United’s perspective concerning the Jadon Sancho deal.

The story denotes that Manchester United are facing some unknown difficulties while negotiating with a third-party agent, used by Borussia Dortmund, to conclude the deal.

The agent is believed to be none other than former Juventus and Arsenal full-back Stephan Lichtsteiner’s brother Marco Lichtsteiner, who has helped Dortmund secure several deals in the past that include the sales of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to Arsenal and Ousmane Dembele to Barcelona. And Dortmund are adamant that only Marco could help them conclude that deal that would be suitable to both parties, or apparently more suitable to the German side.

Despite Zorc publically slamming the doors against United’s intention, there is a feeling inside both camps that the deal could be struck before the end of the summer transfer window, with BVB sticking to their €120m asking price for Sancho.

Not only are Manchester United frustrated with the pace the negotiations have been moving, but they are believingly yet to explore the fact that whether it would be feasible enough to pay such a huge amount on one player amidst this financial crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

The report further suggests that Manchester United don’t want to rekindle the mistakes they did with Alexis Sanchez deal, with United reportedly offering the Chilean a bumper wage of £400,000-a-week then. Sanchez agreed on the deal and joined the Mancunian club, and the rest is history.

Manchester United don’t want to rub more salt into the wound this time. Hence, it is understood that they are taking adequate time before finalising Sancho’s personal terms and agent fees. Even though it does not seem as Manchester United will conclude the deal early, one thing is for sure that they have neither lost hope nor walked out of the race yet.
