Finally, Manchester United start negotiations with Borussia Dortmund over Jadon Sancho.

Clinching the third spot in the Premier League with a nervy showdown against Leicester City on Sunday, Manchester United have given themselves a major boost, both financially and sporting wise, ahead of the 2020/21 campaign.

With Solskjaer’s objectives seemingly achieved, now the onus is on the Norwegian’s bosses to back his rebuild project by investing in the transfer window to ensure Manchester United continue their rebuild journey.

Despite umpteen superstars linked with a move to Old Trafford this summer, Jadon Sancho remains the priority for club insiders as Man United management envisaging an attacking dynamo comprising Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford alongside the Dortmund winger. Additionally, the 20-year-old is keen on a move to Manchester this summer.

After learning their Champions League fate- which, potentially, adds £75m additional funds to club’s revenue cache, Manchester United bosses are eager to initiate dialogues with German counterparts for the services of English prodigy. Currently, the clubs remain apart in their valuation by around £20million.

However, the talks are said to be accelerating with Ed Woodward and Matt Judge, transfer chiefs in United’s hierarchy, are eager to start advanced talks, having laid the groundwork for the deal in previous months, as per Rob Dawson from ESPN.

The story suggests Red Devils’ stance of offering around £80m for Sancho whereas Die Borussen remaining steadfast over their price tag of £118m. United, also, remain interested in adding bonus clauses which could lift the transfer value near the valuation of Dortmund.

Crucially, German media have informed that Man United have already presented their maiden offer- believed to be around 98 million Euros- to Borussia Dortmund, which has been rejected, according to Bild via Sport Witness. Indications are there that English club is serious now with Champions League football being secured.

Sport Witness also suggest that Ed Woodward is already planning another offer above €100m mark, as Dortmund set a deadline of August 10 to sort the transfer out. With the Bundesliga outfit shortlisting replacements in Jeremie Boga, Jonathan Ikone, and Milot Rashica, the deal for Sancho looks like happening.

However, the hype remained shortlived as contrasting stories have emerged from English media, suggesting no official bid made for Sancho from Manchester United, yet. As per James Ducker for The Telegraph, there has been no official contact between the sides.

Despite contrasting reports, the deal could pick up pace with both sides eager to reach a consensus in coming days. Watch this space!
