Manchester United could have a new defensive addition.

From the pioneering days of Sir Matt Busby, the tradition of promoting youth is entrenched into the culture of Manchester United. Signing young players has always been the driving force behind the Red Devils’ success. Sir Alex Ferguson’s almost thirty year spell at Old Trafford was built on the foundation of youth talent too.

Now Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who previously coached in the Red Devils’ academy, is trying to rekindle that same spirit at the club. The Norwegian has helped a plethora of academy talent thrive at Old Trafford and has shifted the club’s recruitment to focus on signing players for the future.

The ambition at Old Trafford is to build United into a bastion of invincibility for the long term. Solskjaer wants to establish his very own dynasty at the club and to herald a new prosperous era for the Red Devils.

It is an ambitious plan, however the first vestiges of his vision can be seen in the stupendous football United have played since the resumption of the Premier League. Finally the free-flowing attacking football from the days of Sir Alex Ferguson are back and more crucially many of the instigators behind United’s success are players from the club’s academy.

Solskjaer will now look to build on the club’s tradition. He will need to continue the momentum and find players for the future to bring through the next batch of talent.

Willy Kambwala Ndengushi could be one of those players. According to L’Equipe via Sport Witness, United have made an offer for the 15 year old defender from FC Sochaux.

Willy Ndengushi is currently a France U16 international. He stands at a towering height of 1,92m which could make him a formidable figure at the heart of the club’s defence. At such a young age, Ndengushi is bound to grow too.

With United seemingly keen on his services, it would not be the first time the club signed a French youth talent. In recent years, the Red Devils have brought the likes of Hannibal Mejbri, Paul Pogba or Gabriel Obertan to the club from France, or even Anthony Martial, though the latter was for a steep figure and with plenty of first team experience behind him.

Willy Ndengushi could be an interesting addition, he would probably play in the club’s U18s to begin with and would be one to keep an eye on.
