Manchester United could make a huge signing.

To the west of Manchester, there are anxious glares directed towards the city. The giant of Manchester United is slowly waking from its slumber. For the first time in almost a decade, the Red Devils are growing stronger. And Liverpool, despite their first Premier League title in over thirty years, will be quaking in their boots at the prospect of Solskjaer’s United rising back to the pinnacle once again.

For thirty years under the helm of Sir Alex Ferguson United dominated English football building up an impressive trophy hoard. Now it seems the Red Devils are desperate to go on another trophy rampage.

United mean business, and having already assembled an impressive starting eleven, Solskjaer will be looking to bolster his squad this summer to build a team capable of challenging arch rivals Liverpool and Man City.

More from Red Devil Armada

It will be a mighty endeavour and one that will no doubt concern the Red Devils rivals.

Especially Liverpool, with the Merseysiders looking unlikely to splash the cash this summer.

The club’s only target so far seemed to be Thiago Alcantara of Bayern Munich. However it seems like Liverpool are unlikely to sign the Spanish international too.

In fact according to the latest reports, Thiago Alcantara could be on his way to Old Trafford instead.

Catalan outlet Sport via Sport Witness has claimed that Thiago Alcantara is about to leave ‘Bayern Munich for Manchester United.’

It is a bold claim with not many outlets having reported any interest in Thiago Alcantara from United, however the move would make some sense.

Solskjaer needs midfield reinforcements this summer with the club looking at the likes of Jack Grealish as potential options.

However with Thiago Alcantara available for a lot cheaper than the steep price Aston Villa are demanding for Grealish, United may be more inclined to move for the current Bayern Munich midfielder.

The only concern will be Thiago’s age. The Spanish international is already 29 years of age meaning he does not have a long term future left at the top of his game.

Nonetheless, with Liverpool having previously been linked with a move for the star, if United manage to lure him to the club it will be a blow to the ego of the club’s arch rivals.
