Manchester United: Ed Woodward given pressing deadline for key target
Manchester United need to wrap up the deal for the ex-Man City star quickly.
He was living in the dreams of hundreds and thousands of Manchester City devotees. The Cityzens’ head coach Pep Guardiola used to watch him training from a very close range, thinking the talented prodigy would don the sky blue shirt one day.
In fact, the former Barcelona boss would bemoan the most when it came out as the youngster — who was once deemed to get City to the next level of European football — snubbed the lastest deal from the blue Mancunian club to join the German side, namely Borussia Dortmund.
Since moving to Germany, Jadon Sancho has been repeatedly linked with a move back to England. Sancho, who left Man City in search of regular first-team football in 2017 for a reported transfer fee of £8 million, is now valued at something around €120 million by BVB.

Having amassed 34 goals and 43 assists in only 99 appearances for Dortmund’s senior side, Sancho, 20, has earned more name and fame than what he would have made at this age had he stayed at England.
He has accomplished himself as one of the most lethal forwards in Europe — which is why he is on the radar of some top European heavyweights — or perhaps some top Premier League heavyweights.
Despite a number of reports suggesting that Liverpool and Chelsea are eager to secure a move for Jadon Sancho this summer, it is widely considered that Manchester United are currently at the front of the queue — understandably because they have got better economic firepower to unlock the deal than many in the same division amidst the financial crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
Stories from Germany have constantly claimed that Jadon Sancho, too, is desperate to move back to his homeland. And considering the ongoing dilemma regarding the future of Sancho, Dortmund have reportedly handed Manchester United a deadline date for Jadon Sancho’s transfer.
This morning, German football journalist Christian Falk took to his twitter handle to inform that Dortmund have finally given Manchester United a deadline for Sancho’s deal, typing:
"“If United wants to bid for Sancho, the deal must be done till August 10th.”"
Hence, should the rumours of Dortmund giving a deadline day to United chief Ed Woodward regarding Sancho’s transfer be true, United have got nearly one month to finalise the deal.
It is believed that an early move for Sancho would benefit both parties — Sancho would get more time to accustomed to United’s surroundings and Dortmund would get the much-needed time to find a replacement for the 20-year-old starlet.
Do you think Manchester United could complete Sancho-deal before the reported 10 August deadline?
