The rivalry between Liverpool and Manchester United holds no bar as the game depicts the moral values, the rich traditions, and the different political agendas the two cities have had presented since the very beginning.

And the fans — all around the globe — cherish those ethics and feel proud to be a part of such a glorious journey both clubs have had shared over the years.

Both Manchester United and Liverpool have had encountered some delightful moments and some torrid moments over the last few decades. Just like a see-saw, the long-lived rivalry between the two clubs have had been topsy-turvy — when one goes up, the other goes down.

After years of domination over the Scousers, Manchester United have seen a major decline in their graph since the departure Sir Alex Ferguson. And the end of one’s domination means the rise of the counter-part.

Consequently, Liverpool, over the last few years, have had developed their game massively and have now turned into an unignorable world-beater, With a high-profile manager in Jurgen Klopp at the helm.

Manchester United, on the other hand, are endeavouring to regain the sport they have already lost to the Merseysiders. And with club’s former legendary striker Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at the charge, the club is seemingly on the right path.

A team based on the youth and experience is allowing United devotees to dream about the pinnacle of European football again. Although there is a clear indication that the side is perpetually improving, there are some areas, where major improvements still need to be made as soon as possible.

And one of the most important things that need to be carried out this summer is to sign a right-winger. The right-wing position has been devoid of a perfect heir since the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo.

One name that has been touted very highly, over the last few months, with a summer move to Old Trafford is of Jadon Sancho. Sancho, who is valued at around £100 million by the German side Borussia Dortmund, is believed to be one of the prime Manchester United transfer targets for the upcoming summer.

However, the last few days have seen reports from Sky Sports claiming that Manchester United are not ready to spend more than £50 million on the transfer of Jadon Sancho.

Hence, the Mancunian club have reportedly turned their eyes on an alternative option apparently targeted by United’s fierce rivals, Liverpool.

Speaking on Transfer Window podcast (via Express Sport), transfer-guru Duncan Castles claimed United are interested in Liverpool transfer target Adama Traore, who has been enjoying his best days at the right side of the pitch for Wolverhampton Wanderers. He said:

"“I think when you have Manchester United briefing that they’re not prepared to pay anything like the transfer fee that Dortmund have made clear that they want for the player that would suggest that actually it’s going to get drawn out rather than get resolved.“The two sides aren’t particularly close on fee. It’s definitely the priority position for Manchester United. Jadon Sancho is their preferred target for that role. They are discussing other individuals.“We told you Jack Grealish is a possibility to come in. Not a like for like player but to be the addition, the creative addition to Solskjaer’s squad for next season.“There’s an interest in Adama Traore, although I do not see them going to the levels that Wolves are asking for that player. 150 million Euros has been the asking price and whatever Wolves are prepared to come down to is going to be at a similar level to what Dortmund are currently asking for Sancho.“I think Dortmund have been making noises that they are happy to retain the player for another year and that they would look to agree a new contract with him.“I think they’re in a difficult position in that he only has two years left on contract."

Traoré has amassed nine assists and four goals from 31 Premier League appearances this season, becoming a pivotal cog in Nuno Espirito Santo’s arsenal. Should United miss out on Sancho, Traoré could be a viable option for United vacant right-wing position.
