Manchester United are all set to deal with their rivals in the transfer market.

The rivalry is antique and well-known to all. When they play, the stadium fills with endless numbers of cheers and jeers. The derby between two Manchester cities is regarded as one of the greatest rivalries in recent time.

While Manchester United had been dominant over their noisy neighbours for decades, the last few years have seen Manchester City closing on an already-widen gap step by step, beating United ambitiously with big margins.

Tough, the 2019-20 season has witnessed a dramatic change in a continual plot as United have beaten the Citzyens not twice but thrice — which also includes a long-awaited league double since Sir Alex Ferguson retired.

More from Red Devil Armada

This season, the Red Devils’ only defeat to Manchester City came in a Carabao Cup home tie where they eventually failed to soak up the pressure and lost 3-1 in front of the vigorous Old Trafford crowd.

As per what current scenario states, they might face again in this season’s FA Cup final should Manchester United beat Chelsea and City manage a triumph over Arsenal in their respective Semi-final ties.

Only times will tell whether that happens or not. While it would not be too harsh to say that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s reds have already shown the resilience it needs to thump a Pep Guardiola side on the field, a battle of nerves is brewing up between the red and the blue side Manchester off the field.

According to the reports from an Algerian outlet Compétition (via Sportswitness), both Manchester sides have shown interest in luring Ismaël Bennacer — a 22-year-old Algerian international — from AC Milan this summer.

Bennacer has been a consistent starter for Rossoneri, making 23 appearances in Serie A this season. A central midfielder by trade, Bennacer has maintained an eye-catching passing accuracy of 87.2 per cent while running the midfield for the Milan side.

WhoScored also reveals he has made 2.4 tackles and 1 key pass per game this season in Serie A. He could be a worthy addition to the current United side, given the fact that Ed Woodward and co. have seemingly missed out on one of their highly-coveted targets for this summer in Jude Bellingham to Borussia Dortmund.

Besides Manchester United and City, French giants Paris Sanit-Germain have reportedly shown immense interest in the midfielder and are believed to be the front runners in the queue.
