Manchester United have endured a tumultuous campaign so far this season, their signings have been hit and miss too, here’s how they have been rated.

Modern day football is fuelled by the transfer window and its perpetual twists and turns. It has carefully been woven into the game’s rich tapestry and integral to the function of every football club. For a team like Manchester United, the transfer window offered a chance for redemption this season.

Often riddled by past glories, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had been tasked with the job of trying to erase those lingering memories from the Old Trafford faithfuls psyche.

Of course as a relatively unknown figure in the realm of football, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s ability to lure some of the best prospects in football was undermined by his status.

More from Red Devil Armada

The pantheon of football stars had written the Red Devils off, even their very own, Paul Pogba was veering towards the exit.

Nonetheless, Solskjaer managed to secure some important signings in the end.

Here is how we have rated his signings.

Daniel James – 6/10

Transfer fee: £15.30 million

Position: Winger

Games played this season: 37

Goals scored this season: 4

Assists this season: 7

The Welsh winger arrived with little to prove at Old Trafford. Not much was expected of Daniel James who had never played in the Premier League prior to his arrival.

However, whilst the Welsh star has struggled with consistency he has been a relative bright spark for the Red Devils.

James started the season brightly. He netted on his Premier League debut and scored three in his first four games and while his form has teetered since then, his pace has always been a great asset for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. It is an asset that is integral to the Red Devils’ counter attacking style of play.

While Daniel James certainly isn’t good enough to be a regular starter just yet, he could be a valuable part of the squad in the future and a great impact substitute.
