One of Manchester United’s long coveted summer targets has revealed revealed just how extremely close he was to signing for the Red Devils.

When one will look back on Manchester United’s summer transfer window of 2019, it will be regarded as a terrible missed opportunity.

The Red Devils had the opportunity to strengthen their squad but instead let some of their key players go without replacing them. This included the likes of Romelu Lukaku and Ander Herrera.

It left Ole Gunnar Solskjaer desperately short of options and the Red Devils have definitely struggled as a result of their thin squad this season.

However it seems it could have been much different for Manchester United had things gone differently at Old Trafford.

According to the latest report by the Guardian via the Metro one of United’s primary transfer targets, Paulo Dybala, came very close to leaving his current club, Juventus.

The Argentine revealed that he was waiting until the ‘last minute’ to see what would happen to his future.

In the end Paulo Dybala ended up staying at Juventus and the Argentine forward has formed a formidable partnership with Cristiano Ronaldo.

One would have to wonder where the Red Devils would be if Paulo Dybala would have ended up at Old Trafford.

The silky Argentine is without a shadow of a doubt one of the best attacking players in the world in his position and he would have been a huge asset for the club.

Of course the saga might not have ended.

Juventus are interested in Paul Pogba and according to the latest reports the Turin based club would be willing to swap Paulo Dybala to secure the services of the World Cup winner from Manchester United.

That would be the perfect scenario for the Red Devils who have been keen on trying to offload Pogba and they would get the perfect replacement for him in exchange.
