The Manchester United star has been heavily linked with an exit from Old Trafford in the summer transfer window and recent comments have confirmed it.

Manchester United might just be on a high right now. As the final whistle blew against Chelsea on Monday night, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was brimming with joy. The Norwegian had just seen his side dominate the blues in their own backyard and secure a much needed victory to keep their Champions `League hopes alive.

His new signing, Bruno Fernandes was excellent. The Portuguese managed to erase the absence of Marcus Rashford and Paul Pogba and put in a stellar attacking performance in which he was a perpetual nuisance to the Chelsea defence.

However around the same times as the match unfolded, a shocking statement will have dented the hard fought victory.

Speaking to El Chiringuito TV via Bola Vip, Paul Pogba’s brother Mathias ‘confirmed’ that his brother was set on an exit from Old Trafford in the summer. Mathias Pogba said the following on live TV:

"“Everyone knows he (Paul Pogba) wants to go, where he will decide. He wants to win titles and play Champions League.”"

His statement will be a damning blow to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer but one that’s not unexpected. There have been rumours and speculation flying around Paul Pogba’s desire to leave for some time now.

The Frenchman has struggled to keep fit this season and the Red Devils have coped without Paul Pogba so far.

Of course, if Paul Pogba does indeed end up departing the club it will be a huge loss to Manchester United, however it would be pointless to force him to stay. And with the hefty fee the Red Devils will get for the services of Paul Pogba they could easily find adequate replacements or strengthen their team in other areas of the pitch.

Paul Pogba has failed to live up to his hype and the record transfer fee Manchester United forked out for him. His time at Old Trafford has been riddled with controversy, surely it is time for him to find pastures new and end his United saga once and for all.
