Manchester United have been given a new update on the return of Paul Pogba and it could be sooner than it was initially expected.

Manchester United have had a barren season. It has been strenuous watching the Red Devils play week and week out. The first ever Premier League winter week has almost been a welcome respite for the United faithful. For the first time in a while the fans did not have to wallow in disappointment over the weekend.

Instead they could sit back and relax. Watch some football and see entertainment rather than the drab performances they have been used to from the Red Devils.

Of course it is hard to pin the blame on solely Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. The Norwegian has a tremendously difficult job in trying to put together the jigsaw pieces at Manchester United and he hasn’t been helped by a largely inept board as well as an extensive injury crisis which has forced the club’s star players to miss key parts of the season.

More from Red Devil Armada

Undoubtedly the player who the Red Devils have missed the most has been the current World Cup winner Paul Pogba. The United midfield has often lacked rigidity and direction in Pogba’s absence and struggled with creativity when trying to break down deep lying defences.

On his day, Paul Pogba can be one of the best players in the world. The Frenchman could do anything with the ball and he has the ability to pick out his teammates from anywhere on the pitch. His constant energy and hustle and bustle can suck the energy out of the opposition’s midfield. Meanwhile his potent striking range can often be a massive offensive asset for the Red Devils.

Despite his future being uncertain at Old Trafford, United desperately need him to return to action.

And his return could be sooner than expected. According to the Daily Mail, Paul Pogba could be in line to play against Manchester City in the derby on the 8th March.

That will be a huge boost for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side who desperately need his quality to help them climb up the table.
