Manchester United to sign former Premier League striker

According to reports Manchester United are considering signing a former Premier League star and could bring him to Old Trafford in January.

When the whistle blew to herald the end of the game against Burnley, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer stood up from his slumped position and sighed. His sigh was deep and long. He pondered and grimaced. The Manchester United display he had just witnessed was dismal to say the least. The Red Devils looked disjointed and out of depth. Burnley did not pull a masterstroke. They were just simply better than United. And that is perhaps the most bitter pill to swallow for the Norwegian.

Despite Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s desperate attempts, the Red Devils find themselves on an unrelenting decline. It seems nothing can prevent it. The United squad is in turmoil. It lacks quality. It lacks depth and to be frankly honest Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has probably over performed considering the players he has at his disposal.

January was supposed to be the month where the depth and quality would be improved in the squad. Yet after failing to sign both Erling Haaland and Bruno Fernandes as well as Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford suffering long term injuries that seems to be unlikely.

If anything United’s squad has gotten worse in January. And that is a pitiful sight to see. There remains a thin hope for the club to reach the coveted Champions League spots but it is rapidly slipping away from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s grasp.

The latest target who United could bring to Old Trafford depicts perfectly just how desperate the Red Devils have become.

According to the Daily Mirror via Birmingham Mail, Manchester United are considering Fernando Llorente as an ‘option’ to sign on loan to help the club in their injury crisis.

Fernando Llorente currently plays in Italy for Napoli. He has scored three goals in Serie A this season and is on the fringes of the Italian team. He is 34 years old and way past his best.
