Manchester United: Five players who could replace Paul Pogba
By Bence Bocsak
2. Eduardo Camavinga
What better way to replace Paul Pogba than with a younger and potentially better version of the French international. In Eduardo Camavinga of Stade Rennais Manchester United may have found exactly just that.
The young man made his name after a masterclass performance in a victory over Paris Saint Germain earlier this season when Eduardo Camavinga was just 16 years of age.
Camavinga was so composed on the ball in that game. He dictated Stade Rennais’ attacking play but the young Frenchman was also crucially in breaking down PSG’s attacks and dominated the midfield against the French champions. It was a performance which alerted the eyes of many of the top clubs in Europe.
Including Manchester United and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. The Norwegian is of course on the lookout for potential replacements for Paul Pogba and Camavinga seems like the perfect candidate.
In terms of build and playing style Eduardo Camavinga resembles Paul Pogba the best. He has the same stride, the same composure, the same ability to dribble past opponents and the same energy to bomb up and down the midfield.
At just 17 he has already become a key member of Stade Rennais’ squad making 17 appearances in Ligue One and scoring one goal in the process.
Of course Stade Rennais will be demanding a hefty fee for the highly rated prospect but that shouldn’t matter to United. When Paul Pogba leaves the club will have received a large sum for their star play and if they must, they should splurge the cash on Camavinga.
He could become the next big midfield superstar and he should be a no brainer signing for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Manchester United.
