Manchester United: Solskjaer to win race for £76m rated star man

The Manchester United boss could have pulled off a major coup as he is set to win the race for one of Europe’s most coveted players.

There are some transfers which have a monumental impact on the teams that make them. These transfers have the power to transform a team completely. They can catapult teams right to the top and change their fortunes around from losers to winners. From Virgil Van Dijk signing for Liverpool to Barcelona signing Neymar and Luis Suarez and Robin Van Persie signing for Manchester United from Arsenal. These major transfers helped the clubs above take the next level in their journey to reach the apex of the footballing world.

Now it seems Manchester United could be on the brink of making that sort of monumental signing once more.

Ever since the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson it is fair to say Manchester United have not had the best of luck in the transfer window. They have bought players in for large sums of money but often those players turned out to be hugely disappointing flops. From Angel Di Maria to Radamel Falcao, Maroane Fellaini the list goes on and on.

There have been very few success stories in terms of transfers at the club, yet all of that could soon be about to change.

Manchester United are desperate to land the services of Red Bull Salzburg forward Erling Braut Haaland and they could soon win the race for the Norwegian international.

It seems according to the Daily Mail via the Daily Express Manchester United have forged a plan which they believe will help them secure the player over the other clubs vying for Erling Haaland’s services. The factor which United believe will win them the race for Haaland is the ‘personal relationship’ between Erling Haaland and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. The pair are both natives of Norway and it was Solskjaer who gave Erling Haaland his debut as a senior player whilst the pair were at Molde.

Since then both have moved onto better and greater things and it seems a reunion could soon be on the cards.

Haaland with his incredible goalscoring ability could surely be the man to transform Manchester United’s fortunes and having already worked with Solskjaer he will be developing under a man who knows him best and who will guide him carefully in his quest to fulfil his potential.
