Manchester United have been keeping an eye on the talented midfielder for some time and could make a move in the January transfer window.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is still building his Manchester United side. After bolstering his squad in the summer with some founding blocks in Harry Maguire and Aaron Wan-Bissaka, the Norwegian is expected to add his next layer of additions in order to strengthen the spine of the United squad.
That spine is Manchester United’s midfield which has been relatively underperforming even with the presence of Paul Pogba who has looked far from his best in a red devil’s shirt.
The Manchester United boss has been busy in his attempt to fulfil the club’s needs, and according to Bild via The Daily Mail Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has identified Kai Havertz of Bayer Leverkusen to help solve his midfield options. The German paper Bild also claims that Manchester United have been ‘in talks’ with Kai Havertz over a potential move to Old Trafford.
There is absolutely no surprise in the fact Manchester United are interested in the young German midfielder. Kai Havertz is only 20 years of age but he has been playing consistently well in the Bundesliga for Bayer Leverkusen over the last couple of years.
An extremely creative player with long darting strides and the ability to ease past defenders Kai Havertz has a great elegance about him on the football pitch. Add to that his ability to find the back of the net with ease and pop up in the right attacking positions with Havertz having scored 17 goals in the Bundesliga last season, the German seems like the perfect all round midfielder.
With United desperate to add more flair and attacking contributions to their midfield Kai Havertz could be the perfect addition.
