Manchester United are back in action against Leicester City in the Premier League on Saturday and a few of their international stars have been busy representing their countries over the last couple of days. Here is your final roundup of the September international break.

On Tuesday evening, England knew a win against Kosovo would put them within touching distance of qualifying out of Group A and into the European Championships finals next summer.

Jesse Lingard had already missed the Three Lions previous match on Saturday evening against Bulgaria after leaving the camp due to illness, however, Marcus Rashford and Harry Maguire both played the full 90 minutes.

Maguire was included once again in the starting XI at St Mary’s against Kosovo, but Rashford – who has featured 31 times for his country under Gareth Southgate – made way for Jadon Sancho on the bench.

To the surprise of almost everyone in the stadium, Kosovo took the lead after a matter of seconds when former United centre-half Michael Keane gave the ball away just outside his own 18-yard box.

Although, it didn’t take long for England to respond. Keane made up for his error, assisting Raheem Sterling from a corner. Moments later, Sterling turned provider, assisting Harry Kane. In a flash, England had pulled away, with an own goal and a brace from Sancho ensuring the Three Lions went in at the break 5-1 up.

Despite the devastation England showed going forward, Kosovo still came out and played their brand of football in the second half and got their just rewards. They made it 5-2 not long after the interval before Maguire conceded a penalty, which was scored, to reduce the deficit to just two.

Harry Kane missed a spot-kick to reinstate the lead to three and Rashford replaced Sancho for the final five minutes, but the match finished 5-3.

Nemanja Matic was dropped to the bench in Serbia’s 3-1 victory over Luxembourg on Tuesday. However, the United midfielder did come onto the pitch for the final 11 minutes to see the game out.

The win puts Serbia third in Group B, five points behind leaders Ukraine and only the one point behind Portugal who have a game on every other side.

Netherlands under-21 international Tahith Chong also got onto the pitch for 20 minutes on Tuesday evening against Cyprus. It was the nations first match of the Euro under-21 qualifying and they ran out comfortable winners, 5-1.

After missing out on a starting spot against Chile on Thursday evening, Marcos Rojo was back in the first XI for Tuesday nights friendly with Mexico. Rojo will be heading back to Manchester with a clean sheet under his belt too, as the rather second-string Argentinian side thrashed their opponents 4-0.
